The Holland Chorale is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Philip Moody as Artistic Director beginning with the 2025-2026 season. Dr. Moody has been a conductor and vocalist for over 25 years. In addition to the Holland Chorale, he serves as Artistic Director & Founder of CORO and Assistant Director of two-time GRAMMY®- nominated True Concord Voices & Orchestra. Previously, he was the Co-Director of the MM in Choral Conducting program at Simpson College, Artistic Director of the Des Moines Choral Festival, and a co-founding member of Cantus.

A passionate educator and celebrated conductor, Dr. Philip Moody brings a wealth of experience from his leadership roles at the University of Houston: Moores School of Music, University of Georgia, University of Arizona, and University of New Mexico. He was the 2011 winner of the prestigious ACDA National Graduate Conducting Competition, and  has over 20 commercial recordings to his credit.  His mentors include Helmuth Rilling, Bruce Chamberlain, Anton Armstrong, Richard Bado, Brad Ellingboe, and Franz Krager.

Rachel Xydis, WMCC Director

Rachel Xydis is the Artistic Director of the West Michigan Children’s Choir and Director of Choirs at Creekside Middle School in Zeeland, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Grand Valley State University in 2018 and her Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan in 2025. In addition to teaching and conducting, she sings with local professional choral ensemble, Vox GR.

Vincent Frank serves as Operations Manager for Holland Chorale, joining the team in May 2025. In addition, he maintains a private music studio of 30 students in downtown Grand Rapids.

Vincent is involved in leadership roles for the Piano Teachers’ Forum of Grand Rapids and West Michigan Choral Lab. He is also a member of The Michigan Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, The National Piano Guild, and The National Federation of Music Clubs.

He enjoys reading, playing board games, and singing & arranging choral music in his free time.

Rebecca Stewart-Wilson, Collaborative Pianist

Rebecca Stewart-Wilson, a pianist, composer and arranger, recently moved to Allegan, Michigan from the South Bend, Indiana area where she was part of a vibrant arts community.

She has done extensive accompanying in the Northern Indiana tri-county area that included professional, college, community and church instrumental ensembles and chorales. She received her B.S. in Piano Performance (1985, St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana) under the tutelage of Dr. Jeffrey Jacob. She pursued a career in establishing the Wilson Piano Studio, as well as doing arranging and professional theatre work in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan. She became the choral director for Mishawaka High School in Mishawaka, Indiana in 2003. She taught for 15 years, receiving her M.A. in Education (2008, Bethel University, Mishawaka, Indiana) before returning to full-time piano accompanying and composing in 2018. She also has written two musicals. One is currently in workshop, WINGLESS, with book written by Stephanie Salisbury of South Bend, Indiana. Currently, she is an accompanist with Holland Public Schools.

Rebecca enjoys collaborating with directors and singers alike, accompanying in a choral environment that includes a variety of choral music, venues and musicians who enjoy making beautiful music.
