Holland
Chorale:
Season Opener!
Saturday, October 11, 2008 7:30 p.m.
West Ottawa Performing Arts Center
The Holland Chorale is taking a slight detour in one set of the season opener to
bring our audience examples of the humorous side of choral music. Rossini once
said, “Give me a laundry list and I’ll set it to music.” (Did he really do it?)
With songs such as “Musical Risotto,” “The Cat Duet,” “Bagels and Biscuits,” and
“Italian Salad,” how could one not depart with at least one laugh under his or
her belt? In anticipation of the 2010 Fiftieth Anniversary of the Holland
Chorale, we will again invite former chorale members to the stage to join in the
singing of a time-honored choral selection..

acoustical properties. Be one of the many Holland Chorale followers as you

Verdi Requiem
Saturday, April 18, 2009, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 19, 2009, 3:00 p.m.
Zeeland High School Auditorium
The Holland Chorale, the Hope College Choir, under the direction of Brad Richmond, and the Holland Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Johannes Müller-Stosch, are eager to present Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem. This is the Holland Chorale’s first presentation of Verdi’s stirring and eloquent masterpiece. Although a sacred work, it has been described as Verdi’s greatest opera because of its dramatic character. Over 130 singers, four soloists, and the full orchestra will present a performance of the Verdi Requiem not to be missed.
