Holland Chorale Board Meeting
Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Present: Janet Amon, Randall Braaksma, Gary Bogle, Rich Dirkse, Pat Eldean, Steve Dupay, Marcia Meoli, John Schmidt, Paul Elzinga, Bill Smith, Thom Spelde, Susan Vanderbilt, DaleVermeer

Absent: Theresa Bravata, Karol Hicks, Nancy Lohman

Call to Order (7:00 PM)

1. Motion to refer draft Strategic Plan to Committees for review and revision, with recommendations for  approval at August planning meeting.
   Discussion : Assigned draft Objectives to appropriate Committees. Concerns about logistics of review and revision over the summer - resolved that Committees will probably need to meet at least once; concern about how to voice comments/concerns/suggestions to committees - resolved to use email to Committee chairpersons with a due date for all inputs prior to June 15th.
   Motion Passed "
   
2. Established Meeting Schedule for 2007/2008 :
   Aug 28, 2007 Mar 25, 2008
   Oct 23, 2007 May 27, 2008
   Jan 22, 2008
   All meetings at 7:00 pm at a location to be announced.
   
3. Treasurer's Report : Basically a continuation of positive financial health, largely due to robust ticket sales, extraordinary underwriting (thanks to Bill Vanderbilt) and diligent fiscal discipline by Gary and Jayne. Thanks given to Thom Spelde for his outstanding job as Treasurer. An email will be sent to the Chorale membership to provide a financial summary.
   
4. Retiring Board / Committee members Janet Amon (3 yrs); Pat Eldean (6 yrs), Rich Dirkse (3 yrs) and Steve Dupay (4 yrs) were thanked for their service. All four commented how the Chorale seems to be on a definite upward swing in quality, enthusiasm, cooperation, etc.
   
5. VP Marcia Meoli recommended two persons as candidates to fill the vacant Board positions; Nicholas Loren and Maxine DeBruyn. Unanimously approved ".
