Gary W. Bogle, artistic director of the Holland Chorale, has conducted the Chorale in well over one hundred performances since the year 2000. Now Gary and the talented musicians of the Chorale happily begin the forty-eighth season of bringing beautiful music to Holland.

Gary, an Oklahoma native, holds three degrees in music. He continued his conducting studies under such luminaries as Robert Shaw, Lloyd Pfautsch, Bev Henson, and Rodney Eichenberger. Gary is active in Chorus America, the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). He served two terms as president of the European MENC and three years on the board of ACDA-Michigan.

Prior to 2000, Gary served twenty-seven years overseas as a civilian music educator and conductor for the U.S. Department of Defense.  His guest conducting engagements took him far and wide, to Korea, Ethiopia, The Azores, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Bahrain, England, and Spain.

When not painting or making music, Gary and his artist wife, Donna, enjoy visiting family, biking, theater, and travel. They have one daughter, Erica, who lives in Tennessee with her husband and their two young sons.
